New Pension Plan – Long-Term Growth Focused
Today I made a big personal finance decision – I’ve officially opened and topped up a SIPP (Self-Invested Personal Pension) with £100 via InvestEngine. My plan is to make this a regular habit going forward. With my mortgage payments set to decrease in July due to lower interest rates, I’ve decided to redirect some of the funds I’ve been using to overpay the mortgage into my pension instead. I’ll still overpay a little on the mortgage, but boosting my pension gives me an instant 25% top-up thanks to tax relief – and that’s before any market gains!
Since InvestEngine only allows investment into funds, this will be a hands-off approach. I’ve currently allocated my SIPP as follows:
55% into an S&P 500 tracker
25% into a NASDAQ 100 tracker
15% into a developed world tracker
5% into gold
I'm optimistic about this setup – especially with the continuing AI boom that I believe will accelerate further over the next few years. Here's to building wealth for the future!
